Comparison with Alternatives

Alunta is a popular alternative to Stripe Billing — especially for Nordic businesses. With prices from DKK 0/mo (free plan) and no per-transaction fees from Alunta's side, it is typically significantly cheaper than Stripe Billing. Additionally, Alunta supports MobilePay, Betalingsservice and direct posting to Danish accounting software — features Stripe Billing does not offer.

Stripe Billing is part of Stripe and often requires a developer to set up. Alunta is a standalone system you can use without technical knowledge. The key differences:

  • No developer required — Alunta is set up via a user-friendly dashboard
  • Danish integrations — Alunta posts to e-conomic, Dinero and Billy
  • MobilePay and Betalingsservice — Alunta supports Danish payment methods
  • Customer portal — Alunta includes a self-service portal for your customers

Alunta is a strong alternative to Chargebee, especially if you're a Nordic business. Chargebee is built for the global market and lacks direct integration with Danish accounting software like e-conomic and Dinero. Alunta is built for the Nordic market with full support for MobilePay, Betalingsservice and automatic accounting.

Recurly is an enterprise-focused subscription platform primarily aimed at large international companies. Alunta is designed for small and medium-sized businesses with a focus on the Nordic market. Alunta is typically cheaper, easier to set up, and offers integrations with Danish accounting software that Recurly doesn't have.

For Danish businesses, Alunta is an obvious choice because it's built with the Danish market in mind. Alunta offers:

  • Integration with e-conomic, Dinero and Billy
  • MobilePay and Betalingsservice as payment methods
  • Danish support and documentation
  • Prices in DKK and EU-based servers

Where international solutions like Stripe Billing or Chargebee require adaptation for Danish conditions, Alunta works out-of-the-box.

Alunta is an alternative to Billwerk+ (formerly Reepay). Both systems handle subscriptions, but Alunta differentiates itself by including automatic posting to Danish accounting software and a customer portal for self-service — and is typically cheaper with plans from DKK 0/mo.

Zuora is an enterprise platform with enterprise pricing. For small and medium-sized businesses, Alunta is a significantly cheaper alternative with plans from DKK 0/mo. Alunta offers the key features — subscription management, automatic invoicing, payment collection and accounting — without Zuora's complexity and price.

No. Unlike many subscription systems (such as Stripe Billing), Alunta requires no developer. You can set up everything yourself via a user-friendly dashboard — from plans and prices to integrations and payment methods.

Yes. Alunta offers free migration, so you can move from your current system to Alunta. We help import your existing customers and subscriptions, making the transition painless.

If you currently manage subscriptions in Excel or Google Sheets, Alunta is an obvious next step. Alunta automates everything you do manually — invoicing, payment collection, accounting and customer management. With the free plan you can get started at no cost.

An invoicing system (like Dinero or Billy) is primarily designed to create invoices. Alunta is a subscription system that automatically creates invoices, collects payments, sends reminders and posts to accounting — all repeated automatically for each billing interval. Alunta even integrates with your existing invoicing system.

Typically yes. Stripe Billing requires separate accounting, which either takes accountant time or an additional software layer. Alunta includes automatic posting to e-conomic, Dinero or Billy — so you save both accountant time and extra software costs.

Yes. Alunta uses Stripe (or OnPay/QuickPay) as a payment gateway. You keep your Stripe account for receiving payments, while Alunta handles subscription management, invoicing and accounting on top of Stripe.

Alunta makes it easy to collect recurring payments in Denmark. You create your plans, add customers (or let them sign up themselves), and Alunta handles the rest — invoicing, collection via card/MobilePay/Betalingsservice, reminders and accounting. All automatic.
