Change a subscription price and renewal interval

A concrete subscription could be changed without creating a new subscription. A price or interval change was treated as a change to the agreement, while its history remained intact.

This article was written afterwards and describes the feature as it worked during the stated period. Plan and interval changes later gained separate effective-date choices, and tiered subscriptions use the selected tier’s price for the interval. Choose when it takes effect

Open the subscription actions, choose price or renewal interval, and review the available choices in the subscription currency. A change could take effect immediately or at a later renewal. A scheduled change remained visible until it was applied or cancelled.

An immediate mid-period change could create a prorated adjustment for the remaining days. A next-period change left the current period at its agreed price. Already invoiced or paid periods could not be freely rewritten, and a locked transaction limited the available choices.

Plans and prices are different

The plan catalogue price determines which choices are available; it does not automatically change every existing subscription. A subscription can have a customer-specific price or a scheduled change. Check the subscription’s current price, next period, and any adjustment lines together.

Common questions

When is the new price shown? On the selected effective date, unless a locked period delays it.

Why is there an adjustment? An immediate change can bill the remaining part of the period proportionally.

Can I cancel a scheduled change? Yes, while the new billing has not locked the change.
