This article was written afterwards and describes the feature as it worked during the stated period.

A pause created a zero-priced gap without deleting the subscription timeline. It was therefore different from cancellation: the subscription could continue after the selected pause period.

Create the pause

Open the subscription actions, choose pause, and enter the period. Review the timeline before saving. The pause appeared as a zero-priced period, visible between billable periods. An invoice, payment, or card status already being processed could limit the dates available.

A pause is not a refund and does not automatically cancel an existing invoice. It also does not change the customer’s other subscriptions. Edit or delete the pause only through the action allowed by the current status.

Resume

When the pause ends, the subscription can resume according to the plan rules. Review the date, next price, and any payment before expecting a card charge. A subscription with a payment failure or no valid payment method may need follow-up instead of a new charge.

Is a pause the same as cancellation? No. Cancellation sets an end date; a pause inserts a zero-priced period.

Can a paid period be paused? Only when current invoicing and payment allow the selected period.
