Reminder before automatic invoicing

The reminder helps a team check upcoming automatic invoicing. It is addressed to the business, not the end customer, so it is not a dunning message or a notice about an overdue invoice.

Historical retrospective - August 2026
This article was written afterwards and describes the preparation reminder added during the period.

The reminder helps a team check upcoming automatic invoicing. It is addressed to the business, not the end customer, so it is not a dunning message or a notice about an overdue invoice.

When the reminder is available, enable it in notification settings and choose the channel shown for the team. It asks you to review and update usage before the upcoming period is invoiced. Update the relevant customers’ usage through your normal workflow, then check the expected invoicing.

Use the current setting and guide for the final behavior. Early historical sketches with internal feed records or a particular clock time are outside this description. The reminder does not change customer usage automatically and does not send a dunning email to the customer.

See the customer communications guide (Markdown file, AI agent-friendly) for current channels and team notifications.

Is this a dunning message? No. It helps the team prepare the next automatic invoicing.

Can I still correct usage? Yes. The reminder is an opportunity to review the relevant usage before invoicing.

Why did the customer receive no email? This is a team notification, not a customer-facing message.

Prepare the team’s workflow

Use the reminder as a checkpoint: see which customers reported usage, check whether a value is missing, and update only the entries required by your agreement and pricing basis. Then compare expected invoicing with the selected period. The reminder does not change a plan, price, or customer; it makes the manual check before the next automatic process easier to complete.

If the channel is not shown, first check notification settings and the team’s available connection. A missing reminder is not by itself evidence of a problem with a customer’s invoice. Always check invoice status and upcoming transactions in the relevant view.
